  • DnaNudge was founded on a principle to democratise healthcare, to put your health back into your hands.

    Founded in 2015 by serial inventor and multi-award-winning innovator Prof. Chris Toumazou and published biologist and geneticist Dr Maria Karvela - as a spin-out from world renowned Imperial College London – our mission is to “nudge the world towards better health & wellbeing” using our advanced out-of-lab technology.

    Today, we all want personalisation in every choice we make. The best way to truly personalise your lifestyle choices is by using your own DNA to guide you. There are 3 billion base pairs in the human genome and we all differ by just 0.1%. It’s these tiny differences that make us all unique. We’ve pioneered a rapid (90 minute) out-of-lab genotyping technology that can decode aspects of your DNA – called SNPs - and then use this information to guide you towards healthier everyday choices. This is DnaNudge – the ultimate in personalisation.

    Chris Toumazou FRS is a multi-award winning inventor, innovator and tech entrepreneur with over 80 granted patents in the field of consumer healthcare and microchip technology. He is London’s first Regius (Royal) Professor of Engineering and founder of the Imperial College Institute of Biomedical Engineering.

  • DR. MARIA KARVELA, CHIEF CUSTOMER OFFICER, CO-FOUNDER

    Maria Karvela is a published biologist, geneticist and leukaemia researcher. Maria’s team of geneticists, biologists, dieticians, and deep learning software engineers created the world’s first database to map genetic traits to individual food, drink and skincare product ingredients, opening up a new era of DNA personalised shopping.

Our DNA test panels identify specific SNPs within your genes that are associated with your predisposition to develop certain health conditions. We only include genes that have high quality research and well documented evidence behind them.

No white coats here! We don’t need a lab as our unique DnaCartridge is a laboratory-on-a-chip. All we need from you is a quick cheek swab then the test is run in our NudgeBox PCR machine at our London retail store.
